General Info

Tucked into the East Village at 335 E 6th St, New York, NY 10003, Elsewhere Espresso feels like one of those coffee shops you stumble into once and then keep coming back to. It’s relaxed without trying too hard, and the space strikes a balance between cozy and functional, which matters when you want to settle in with a laptop or meet a friend for a slow catch-up.

The menu keeps things focused, and that’s part of the charm. Coffee is clearly the main event here. Their espresso has a clean, balanced flavor that works just as well on its own as it does in milk-based drinks. The oat milk cappuccino stands out for its smooth texture and subtle sweetness, while the flat white leans velvety and rich without feeling heavy. On warmer days, the iced coffee is refreshing and straightforward, never watered down. If you’re in the mood for something different, the matcha latte offers a calm, earthy alternative that still feels indulgent.

Beyond coffee, Elsewhere Espresso also delivers a great tea selection, which makes it easy to please everyone at the table. Whether you’re taking a break from caffeine or just switching things up, the options feel thoughtfully chosen rather than an afterthought. Pair your drink with a dessert from the counter, and suddenly a quick stop turns into a longer stay.

The seating layout makes the space especially good for working on a laptop. There’s enough room to spread out without feeling like you’re camping for hours, and the overall atmosphere stays productive but friendly. You’ll notice a mix of locals typing away, casual conversations happening in corners, and regulars stopping by for their usual order. It’s the kind of environment that earns positive reviews simply because it fits so many different routines.

Location-wise, being in the East Village puts Elsewhere Espresso right in the middle of a lively neighborhood, yet the shop itself feels like a small pause from the noise outside. Whether you’re scanning the menu for your next favorite drink or just looking for a dependable coffee shop with great coffee and comfortable seating, this spot manages to feel both familiar and thoughtfully put together.

“ I’m going to give “elsewhere” five stars because of the friendliness of their staff AND because they serve an amazing cappuccino. The coffee was so so, but I think they were having problems with the grinder. Again, in my book they’re getting five stars because the service was amazing. They have a young barista who is just super friendly and very helpful. Space - It is a small little shop with about eight tables. Outdoor - They have outdoor seating with many more tables. Prices - prices are reasonable. Food - They have some assortment of desserts, but not much. It is very local and worth coming over to visit. ”

“ I came into Elsewhere Espresso exhausted. These late nights and early mornings of writing Yelp reviews is starting to take its toll. I came here as opposed to my normal coffee shop, as I need to get more reviews so that I can win another Yelpie. People don't want to talk about it, but a Yelpie is more difficult to get than a Grammy or an Oscar. Winning a Yelpie is war, and war is a full contact sport. I got my iced americano, and walked out to the covered outdoor patio and locked in. They have wifi here, which is huge because I get so annoyed when coffee shops don't have it... I mean I get it though, because when I walk into a coffee shop where all the tables are taken by people on laptops and over ear headphones I get so annoyed. The grass is always greener smh. My americano was S tier and brought me back to life, but honestly I just get it black so how good could it be. I'm no coffee connoisseur. While I was jamming away at my laptop, crafting a review that will make you laugh, cry, and contemplate your life in under 400 words in hopes to realize this long shot dream of back to back Yelpies, I spotted the only other girl on the patio reading "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. My kind of people in here. I will leave you with a quote from the late, great Kobe Bryant: “Those times when you get up early and you work hard; those times when you stay up late and you work hard; those times when you don’t feel like working, you’re too tired, you don’t want to push yourself, but you do it anyway; that is actually the dream. That’s the dream. It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.” IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews ”

“ Decent latte. Spot is cool and the staff was nice. Anywhere taking parking for more seats is cool in my book. Edit: the barista came outside to ask if I wanted them to put the heat on. That’s very nice. ”

“ Immaculate vibes. Coffee was top tier. What a greatttt latte. A fab macchiato. Really liked it. There are several tables, free wifi, and it’s laptop friendly. The lighting is not that bright, but it’s good for like a rainy day journal. Music not loud. Cute for-stay cups. Will be back ”
